Old networks and new approaches
For the first time, our sensors were presented exactly where they should work in the future. With those who are responsible for a stable power grid on a daily basis.
Participation in E-world energy & water in Essen and the electrical engineering trade fair in Dortmund marked an important step for us. Not only because we were there with our own stands, but also because we had the opportunity to present our sensors to exactly people who are directly confronted with the challenges of network operation.
And there are many challenges. The progressive expansion of the power grid, the increasing complexity of modern solutions and new legal regulations relating to the crisis security of critical infrastructure. And all this amid a growing lack of capacity.
What remains is the impression of a changing industry and the feeling that you have been in the right place at the right time. Because it was precisely in this area of conflict that we were able to show how our sensors and the associated software were intended as a practical solution. Intuitive to install and use. Resilient in operation. And can be retrofitted at any time.
Between eye-catcher and depth
The visual highlight of our stand was the cut and illuminated demo transformer with assembled sensors. The deliberately chosen presentation not only attracted attention, but also aroused the interest of many visitors and provided a lot of topics for conversation. But the discussions we were able to have went far beyond this interest. The focus was primarily on topics such as integration into ongoing operations, use and handling in everyday working life, as well as questions about the economic relevance of such an implementation.
But it wasn't just at our own stand that we were able to have intensive discussions and present our sensors. We were also represented at our partner, the Alpha Omega IoT shop, and had the opportunity to present our smart transformer thermometer to a wide audience. The joint presence not only offered added professional value, but was also a clear enrichment on a human level. The collaboration was an ideal opportunity to strengthen the existing cooperation and to gather new insights for further cooperation.
Next chapter: Pilot projects
Some of the numerous discussions at the trade fairs remained at the level of professional exchange. Others solidified further contact, which continued even after the events. In several cases, this interest became so concrete that the first pilot projects could be set up.
In these projects, our sensors are now used directly in the distribution network. The aim is to observe the technology where it should work: In everyday network operations, with real data flow and under real conditions.
It was clear to us that the trade fair appearances did not mark our finish line. Yet they were an important step forward. Both professionally, strategically and personally. They've confirmed that our approach is relevant. And that there is a willingness to break new ground when the solution fits reality.
