HOOTS CLASSIC GmbH is a young IoT company based in Dresden, Saxony specializing in designing & engineering smart, low-power wireless sensor systems for use in consumer as well as industrial sectors. From monitoring the state of classic cars in real-time to providing a multi-year monitoring system for energy infrastructure, our technology is being used in various areas to offer customers new levels of insight into the state and health of their assets.

As a mobile software engineer you will be involved in developing, building, shipping and monitoring our mobile apps that our customers depend on for various tasks, from configuring our devices in the field to navigating and understanding large amounts of data.

• Translate business requirements to a technological roadmap and planning
• Build, test and maintain backend services including our customer facing REST APIs
• Build, test and maintain the web applications our customers use
• Adapt our data pipelines to changing customer needs

• A degree in electrical engineering, IT, computer science or similar field
• 3+ years of (professional) experience in software development
• Experienced in working with fundamental web technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript, HTTP, JWT, etc.), frontend frameworks are a plus (React, Vue)
• Experience designing, building and maintaining REST APIs (Openapi, JSON)
• Experience writing backend services and working with containers (Golang, Docker, etc.)
• Experience handling relational data, schemas and databases (SQL, Postgres)
• Experience building on the public cloud (AWS)

• Experience defining and deploying IaC is a plus (Cloudformation, CDK, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• Experience using time series data and databases (InfluxDB)
• Knowledge of IoT protocols (MQTT)

• Build, maintain and monitor our mobile applications with a focus on simplicity and reliability
• Collaborate with the embedded team to provision, configure and exchange data with our hardware devices
• Collaborate with the cloud team to handle authentication and data exchange
• Collaborate with the design team to create a seamless user experience from start to finish

• A degree in electrical engineering, IT, computer science or similar field
• 3+ years of (professional) experience in software development
• Experience in working on mobile applications, ideally with cross-platform technologies (React-Native, Typescript)
• Experience with authentication and authorization (OAuth, JWT)
• Experience interacting with REST APIs (Openapi, JSON)

• Experience with testing mobile applications (unit / integration / e2e)
• Experience using BLE on mobile platforms
